Jamesburg's History Wishlist
The Jamesburg Historical Association has been fortunate enough in the past to receive donations of items of historical
and Jamesburg area importance. However, with online web sites such as eBay, it has become easier to sell your "junk" online
and efficiently. This has produced a large amount of items being sold over eBay and through private auctions.
Fortunately, several items have been donated to the Jamesburg Historical Association through eBay and private auction
and are now on display in Lakeview Mansion. However, it has not been enough. The Jamesburg Historical Association
unfortunately cannot focus its funding toward buying these items that cannot be donated. Rather, they must focus
on stabalizing the mansion and put money towards its operating expenses.
Therefore, the Jamesburg Historical Association has established a wishlist of items that have been sold on eBay or through
private auction that would benefit Lakeview and enhance its displays for understanding the history of Southern
Middlesex County. We ask that if you have seen, possess, or can get in contact with someone who is willing to donate these
items to the Jamesburg Historical Association, please do so. Look in your attics, drawers, and basements. The Association
will take anything that has a Jamesburg connection, Jamesburg written on it, or can be placed within our 19th century
Victorian residence. If you do not have any items and would like to help the Assocation, you can help us by donating to
the "Wish List Fund". The money collected for this fund would go towards purchasing items on eBay such as bottles, books,
postcards, and items that are sold at public auction. Please note, the following items are only suggestions and examples
of what the Jamesburg Historical Association is in search of. Slowly, Jamesburg can work together to reestablish 320 years worth
of history in 2005, most appropriately named "The Year to Save History."
The Wishlist
Forsgate Farms
Forsgate Farms had a large impact on the Jamesburg area - it is where our milk and other dairy products came from.
All of their products also bore the name of Jamesburg, rather than Monroe Township although they are located outside the
Jamesburg border. Their history is rich and important to the area. Many Forsgate Farms and Country Club items have
appeared on eBay in the past year. Below is a sampling of some of the items the Jamesburg Historical Association is looking
for. Help contribute to the Forsgate Farm Project. If you have any memorabilia to contribute, seriously consider it.
The association is working on establishing a Forsgate Farms and Country Club display. The more that is donated, the more
history that can be displayed properly in a museum setting.

visitors a feeling for the time period and its traditions.
